Driving Lesson Options
Intensive Driving Courses
Intensive lessons are designed for learners who want to gain confidence and prepare for their driving test in a shorter timeframe.
A typical session lasts 4 hours with a short break halfway through to reflect, rest, and refresh. Each course is tailored to your individual needs, and additional breaks can be arranged as required.
Course options include:
-
20 Hours over 5 Days Advanced £1000 (Advance booking fee £300)
Ideal for those with previous driving experience who need to build confidence and polish their skills before the test. You should already have completed at least 20 hours of recent driving lessons with a qualified instructor and be mostly independent behind the wheel. -
30 Hours over 7 Days Intermediate £1500 (Advance booking fee £400)
Best suited for learners who can already manage the basics — such as moving off, stopping, junctions, and basic manoeuvres — but need more practice and confidence before taking the test. You should have completed around 10–15 hours of recent driving lessons. -
40 Hours over 10 Days Beginner £2000 (Advance booking fee £500)
Recommended for complete beginners or those with very little driving experience who are ready to learn intensively.
Please note: learning to drive is an individual journey. Some pupils may need extra lessons to become fully test-ready. The DVSA recommend a minimum of 45 hours of professional lessons and 22 hours of private practice. The DVSA requires at least 10 working days to move or change a driving test date, so careful planning is essential.
Your safety is the top priority — your instructor will only allow use of the car for the driving test when it is safe to do so.
There is a non-refundable deposit of £300 to book the course. The balance is due 10 days before the course starts.
Semi-Intensive Courses
If a full intensive course feels too demanding, you can choose a semi-intensive option. This allows lessons to be spread out over a longer period — for example, 2 hours per day instead of 4 — to match your pace and learning style.
Driving Lesson Options
Weekly Lessons
A two hour lesson is £90 (payable 48 hours before the lesson starts)
Refresher Lessons
Designed for drivers who have already passed their test but may not have driven for some time, or are new to Bristol and want to build local confidence on unfamiliar roads. (£90 for a 2hr lesson payable 48hrs in advance of the lesson)
Mock Tests & Test Day Car Hire
As your skills progress, you’ll be encouraged to take at least one mock test with your instructor. This provides valuable insight into how you perform under real test conditions.
Where appropriate, a mock test may be arranged with a trusted ADI colleague (all fully qualified and DBS-checked) to give you an authentic test-day experience.
(Subject to instructor availability.)
Test Day
On the day of your practical driving test your instructor will start with you 1 hour before your driving test to include the drive to the test centre and deal with any test day nerves, plus an hour for the actual test and drive back to the agreed address (£90 test day. This does not include the fee that is paid to the DVSA for booking an examiner)
